The ultrasonic appearance of the 429 is similar to soft tissue to allow the use of normal scanner control settings.
Embedded in the phantom are 11 test objects on three different levels, allowing you to practice identification, aspiration and biopsy procedures on cysts, high-contrast and low-contrast lesions.
There are three fluid-filled cysts, four high contrast lesions and four low contrast lesions. The material in the solid lesions are colored to differentiate them from the surrounding tissue.
This provides the user with immediate feedback on the success of the core biopsy. With this variety and number of lesions, most users become proficient in ultrasound-guided biopsies in a single training session.
